All doctors in the UAE can now apply for a golden visa

The golden visa will grant doctors and their families a 10-year residency

The UAE has permitted all doctors residing in the country to apply for the golden visa.

The visa will grant doctors and their families ten years of residency in the country.

Doctors who are licensed by the health regulatory authorities in the country can apply for the golden residency until next September through the smartservices.ica.gov.ae website.

In May 2020, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, decided to award the 10-year Gold Card residency visas to doctors of the Dubai Health Authority who were providing direct medical services to Covid-19 patients.

Earlier this month, coding experts from across the world were invited to apply for UAE golden visas as part of the National Program for Coders. The initiative was available to both residents and non-residents of the UAE, to attract the best-qualified coders and graduates specialised in the field of coding.

The UAE government also announced recently that it would grant the golden residency visas to outstanding students who have obtained an excellent grade or an average of at least 95 per cent in their general secondary certificate assessments or its equivalent, from either public or private schools.

The UAE launched the permanent residency scheme for expatriates in May 2019.
