Home GCC UAE UAE announces holidays for National Day and Commemoration Day Public and private sector holidays revealed by Staff writer November 17, 2016 The UAE has announced holidays for public and sector workers to mark National Day and Commemoration Day. Public sector workers in the country will get three days off from Thursday, December 1 to Saturday, December 3, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has said. Meanwhile private sector workers will be off for two days on December 1 and 2, officials said. Originally called Martyrs Day, Commemoration Day was held for the first time last year on November 30 to mark the sacrifice of those who have died in the line of duty for the country. UAE National Day falls on December 2. However, the UAE’s laws allow the government to shift a public holiday falling in between two working days to either the beginning or the end of that week. 0 Comments
