Explosion destroys apartment in Dubai’s Al Khail Gate

Two women were seriously injured and a baby suffered minor injuries after their apartment was destroyed in an explosion at Dubai’s Al Khail Gate community on Wednesday.

The incident took place on the fifth floor of building 39 in Phase 1 of the Al Khail Community.

Dubai Civil Defence has confirmed that the accident was caused by a gas cylinder explosion.

The explosion also partially damaged two neighbouring apartments in the five-storey building.

The injured women are currently at the Rashid Hospital.

Civil defence and police officials reached the area soon after the accident and are investigating the case.
