THE DAUGHTER of Lebanese born Nicolas George Hayek became chairwoman of watchmaking giant Swatch Group following her father’s death in 2010 and has maintained close ties to the Arab region via her responsibilities on the board of Dubai’s Rivoli Investments. Outside of Swatch, Nayla is an international Arabian horse judge and member of the World Arabian Horse Organisation. She made headlines last year after buying a vivid blue diamond for $24 million at a Christie’s auction in Geneva, renaming it the Winston Blue after Harry Winston, another unit she leads.
