Home Transport Aviation Flydubai announces flights to Thessaloniki, Aqaba The routes add to a growing network of new destinations for the carrier this year by Staff Writer January 24, 2018 Low cost carrier flydubai has announced it will begin flights to Thessaloniki in Greece and Aqaba in Jordan later this year. The carrier said it would fly from Dubai to Thessaloniki three times a week starting from June 15. Flights to Aqaba will operate four times a week from June 16. “With the addition of Aqaba and Thessaloniki to our network, we increase the number of underserved markets served by flydubai with direct flights from the UAE to 71 destinations,” said the carrier’s CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith. “The fact that around 70 per cent of our network was previously underserved means that we remained committed to the vision set for us to create free flows of trade and tourism and the strengthen direct air links with the UAE.” The flights to Greece’s second-largest city and Jordan’s major seaport add to a growing network of new destinations for the carrier. From March this year it will begin flights to Tivat, Krakow, Dubrovnik, Catania, Kutaisi, Qabala and Batumi. These will expand its network to 27 destinations in Eastern and Southern Europe, 11 in the Caucasus and Central Asia and 30 in the GCC and Middle East.
