The seismic monitoring stations of the National Center for Seismology and Volcanology recorded the tremor occurring on the Red Sea Opening Axis, at a distance of 91 kilometres west of Jeddah city. However, the official spokesman of the Saudi Geological Society, Tariq Aba Al-Khalil, stressed that the quake was not felt in any of the coastal cities near the earthquake because of its weakness, reported the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
