Dubai developer Deyaar launched a massive new Dhs3.5 billion mixed-use development, ‘Midtown By Deyaar’ to meet the rising demand for integrated communities in the emirate, it announced during the ongoing Cityscape exhibition.

Spread across 5.5 million sq feet, the development will include 27 buildings in total including two hotels on the northern and southern tips, 13 residential buildings on the east side and 12 buildings clustered into four groups, a statement said.

While three buildings are joined into one group on the west side of the master plan, all the 27 buildings will share a one level podium covering retail, parking, and essential services.

The development will be located adjacent to Jumeirah Golf Estates on the southern end and overlooks Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Dubai Marina, Emirates Hills, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Jumeirah Islands, and Jumeirah Village Circle from the northern side.

On the east side, it is adjacent to the Dubai International Media Production Zone, and is 10 minutes away from Al Maktoum International Airport, Deyaar said.

The project has been designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas through OMA architecture company.

Saeed Al Qatami, CEO of Deyaar, said: “This project will create a distinctive ‘cultural’ ambience that enriches the lifestyle of its occupants.”

The company said it is looking to diversify its portfolio in light of Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020, as part of which the emirate aims to attract more than 20 million visitors by 2020.

Cityscape this year has seen the launch of several new projects – Meraas Holding revealed ‘La Mer’, a mixed-use beachfront development in Jumeirah spread across 9.5 million square feet, Damac Properties launched a new luxury hotel in collaboration with Paramount Hotels & Resorts, and Dubai’s Indigo Properties unveiled a new villa community development called Zen in Dubai Golf City.
