Dubai and several parts of UAE experienced spells of rainfall Wednesday, which continued throughout the night and well into Thursday morning, with more downpour on the way.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted the continuing of the unstable weather as well as overcast conditions.

The centre also forecasted “rainfall of different intensities with thunder and lightning at times over scattered areas,” in its weather bulletin on Thursday.

It issued an alert as well, advising people to be vigilant during outdoor activities.

The country’s lowest temperature – 3.2°C – was recorded at 1am this morning at Jais Mountain (Ras Al Khaimah).

Temperatures could dip to lows of 10°C across internal areas with highs of 24°C. However, they will remain relatively low amid the mountains, hovering between 3-12°C, while coastal areas and islands will see peaks of 22°C and lows of 15°C.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Dubai’s education regulator, said schools across the emirate would operate normally on Thursday.

However, the Ministry of Human Resource and Emiratisation (MOHRE) advised companies operating across the country’s private sector to ensure compliance with safety guidelines.

According to Windy.com, downpour will continue across the country throughout the day.
