The UAE is set to experience another bout of low temperatures, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has said.

“Rather cold during daytimes, dusty and partly cloudy at times over some coastal, Northern and eastern areas, with another significant drop in temperatures,” the NCM stated in its weather bulletin.

“Cold during night with a probability of frost formation over some areas by Saturday morning.”

Fresh winds, strong at times especially over the sea, causing blowing dust and sand over some coastal and internal areas are also expected, which will impede horizontal visibility.

Low visibility over some coastal areas across Al Dhafra region and over Sweihan (Al Ain) was also observed.

The Al Dhafrah Region Municipality took to social media to caution people while walking on the roads, with some areas affected by active winds, that could raise dust.

Beach-goers have also been advised to exercise caution due to high sea tides.

The UAE recorded its lowest temperature of 1.7°C in Jabal Jais at 7.45am today morning.

Temperatures across internal areas in the UAE are expected to scale to as high as 20°C on Monday, with lows touching 7°C.

Meanwhile, temperatures will hover between 13-21°C in the coastal areas and islands, and between 5-17°C among the mountains.

Overcast conditions as well as potential dust storms are expected tomorrow, January 22.
