Saudi royal dies, UAE leaders offer condolences

The mother of former Saudi Crown Prince Muqrin bin Saud bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud has passed away, the Saudi Royal Court announced on Wednesday, August 22.

Funeral prayers will be performed on Thursday after Asr prayer in the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh city, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Prince Muqrin is the youngest son of the Kingdom’s founder King Abdulaziz al-Saud.

UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a cable to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in which he expressed his sincere condolences.

Similar cables were sent by UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In November last year, Saudi Prince Muqrin’s son Prince Mansour died in a helicopter crash. Prince Mansour, who was the deputy governor of Asir, was accompanied by seven other officials from the region. No carrying a number of officials in the Asir region. No one survived the crash.
