Saudi Royal Court announces death of prince

Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud passed away on Thursday

Saudi Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – the brother of Saudi’s King – passed away on Thursday, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, citing the Royal Court.

A statement issued by the Royal Court confirmed that the funeral prayers were performed following Isha (evening) regular prayers at the Grand mosque in Makkah on Friday.

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received condolences from leaders across the region, including the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Sudan, SPA added.

According to local media reports, Prince Abdulrahman was born in 1931 in Riyadh and completed his education in the US.

He served as the deputy minister of defense and aviation from 1983 until 2011.
