Saudi forces destroy armed drone launched towards civilian targets in the kingdom

The attack, launched on Wednesday, targeted the kingdom’s southern region

Saudi coalition forces destroyed an armed drone attack launched from Yemen on Wednesday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

“The joint coalition forces have intercepted and destroyed this evening (Wednesday) a bomb-laden UAV launched systematically and deliberately by the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects in the southern region,” SPA quoted Colonel Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson of the coalition as saying.

The kingdom’s southern region has faced several such attacks in recent months.

Last month, the GCC secretary general for Arab states, Dr. Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf, condemned the Houthi militias for the “ongoing continuation in committing terrorist acts systemically and deliberately by targeting civilians and civilian objects in Saudi Arabia”, SPA reported.

He emphasised that these “repeated, systematic and deliberate attacks” confirm the “intentions of the militias and their supporters and their preference for war options” and their unwillingness in putting an end to the Yemeni crisis.
