Michelin Star awardee chef Vikas Khanna is collaborating with Akshaya.io, an NFT metaverse marketplace to release his new book, ‘Sacred Foods of India’. This was unveiled by him at his restaurant Kinara in Dubai.

Akshaya.io will create Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) of the book which will enable those interested to own the original NFT along with physical book. This purchase will authenticate the originality of this book and ownership of the asset cannot be duplicated in any form.

Though a first-ever collaboration, the celebrity chef and author intends to create more augmented reality and virtual reality assets of his works and creations. “In these fast-changing times when the world of the internet is metamorphosing into the future rapidly, it is important we take the big leap forward. ‘Sacred Foods of India’ is very dear to my heart, and I wish this will be a prized possession for those who are interested in buying or investing into works of passion,” he said.

“I am happy to be associated with Akshaya.io, which will enhance user experience by generations. The clarity in vision of those behind Akshaya.io makes me believe, together we are going to create a great asset via this launch. I welcome one and all to be a part of my journey, as I take a giant vault into the new age of internet,” he added.

The CEO of Akshaya.io Ganesh Raju said, “ We are focussing on 10 different segments spanning across entertainment, arts, wellness, sports, lifestyle and fashion. We are happy to be associated with Vikas and create NFTs of his work. Web 3.0 is all set to transform utility of internet and this is the right period to create physical and digital assets that will gain prominence with time. It is estimated to be a trillion dollar market oppurtunity by 2025 and we would like to bring in this innovation through our expertise,.”

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) were first invented in 2014, but they have recently gained recognition as an increasingly popular means to buy and sell digital art. It is a non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a blockchain that can be sold or traded.

NFT books are rising in popularity and authors are seeing a good potential. Last year, Dubai based author Prem Ramachandran, also unveiled his plans to the world by listing the world’s first-ever, yet to be published, NFT fiction book cover on OpenSea, one of the world’s first and largest NFT platform.
