Celebrated on November 3 every year, UAE Flag Day is the symbol of unity, pride and prosperity for the nation and its visionary leadership.

This year marked the 10th annual celebration of the special day when flags were hoisted at 11am in government buildings, private offices, homes, schools, squares, parks and beaches.

Flag Day was first celebrated in 2013. The idea was conceived by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to celebrate the accession of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the UAE in 2004. It is commemorated every year on the anniversary, November 3.

UAE leaders, residents, citizens, government agencies, and private offices took to Twitter to share their flag-raising ceremonies.
