GCC Covid-19 update: Saudi registers 3,393 cases, 40 deaths; UAE reports 378 infections, 1 death

The death toll in Saudi Arabia and Oman has scaled to 1,307 and 137 respectively

UAE
The Ministry of Health and Prevention registered 378 Covid-19 cases and one death, spiking the death toll to 303.

Since the outbreak, a total of 45,303 people have contracted the virus across the country, of whom 11,954 are currently undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, a total of 33,046 people have recovered from the infection.

Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, spokesperon for National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) said that it was important for UAE citizens and residents to follow travel protocols and adhere to the precautionary measures and guidelines in place to protect their health.

Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Health reported 3,393 new Covid-19 cases and 40 deaths on June 22, raising the death toll to 1,307 and infection count to 161,005.

The city of Riyadh registered 438 cases, followed by Jeddah (388), Dammam (345) and Makkah (269).

The kingdom has a total of 2,045 critical cases while its active cases tally 54,523.

Oman
The Ministry of Health in Oman has registered 1,605 new Covid-19 cases, of whom 684 were Omanis.

It also confirmed six additional deaths, raising the death toll to 137.

Kuwait
The Ministry of Health confirmed 641 Covid-19 infections and four deaths. Its fatality toll stands at 330.

Bahrain
The Ministry of Health confirmed that of the 7,379 Covid-19 tests carried out on June 21, 434 cases were detected.

Meanwhile, there were 629 recoveries.

On June 22, the ministry confirmed an additional death, that of a 90-year-old citizen.

Qatar
The Ministry of Public Health has announced 1,034 cases and one death in the past 24 hours.
