The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned what it described as “terrorist, unprovoked” attacks targeting civilian sites in the country, following a fresh wave of missile and drone activity intercepted by national air defence systems.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, the UAE’s air defences successfully intercepted 12 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles and four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on May 4, 2026, preventing wider damage. The incident resulted in three moderate injuries, officials confirmed, with those affected identified as Indian nationals.
In an official statement, MoFA said the attacks “constitute a dangerous escalation, an unacceptable act of aggression, and a direct threat to the UAE’s security, stability, and territorial integrity,” adding that they represent a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The ministry stressed that the UAE “will not tolerate any threat to its security and sovereignty under any circumstances,” and affirmed that it reserves “its full and legitimate right to respond” to such actions in a manner that safeguards national security and territorial integrity, in line with international law.
MoFA further underscored that the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure is unequivocally condemned under all legal and humanitarian norms, calling for an immediate halt to hostilities and full adherence to ceasefire commitments.
“The UAE holds Iran fully responsible for these unprovoked attacks and their repercussions,” the statement added.
