The Dubai-headquartered media group traces the OSN brand to 2009, when Orbit and Showtime Arabia were combined to create a larger regional pay-TV platform. Rather than a conventional founder-led business, OSN developed through the consolidation of established media operations and has progressively expanded beyond satellite television into on-demand and streaming services. The entity is accelerating its shift from traditional pay television towards a broader digital entertainment model built around streaming, premium content and music as competition for subscribers intensifies across the Middle East and North Africa.
A major strategic step came in April 2024, when OSN Group completed the transaction combining OSN+ with Anghami and became the majority shareholder in the Nasdaq-listed music and entertainment streaming company. The deal brought together video and music services under a wider digital proposition and created new opportunities for bundling, distribution and cross-platform subscriber growth.
The financial impact is increasingly visible in Anghami’s consolidated results. For 2025, Anghami reported revenue of $99.3m, up 27 per cent from $78.1m in 2024, supported by subscriber growth across Anghami Plus and OSN+ as well as the first full-year contribution from OSN+ following its consolidation from April 1, 2024. Paid subscribers exceeded 3.5 million across Anghami and OSN+. Those figures should not be read as consolidated results for OSN Group as a whole, which remains privately held. Instead, they provide a measurable view of the scale being created within the combined streaming business.
The platform has continued widening distribution. In 2025, Warner Bros. Discovery completed a $57m minority investment in OSN Streaming Limited, while OSN+ expanded partnerships with regional consumer platforms and bundled offerings. Anghami also continued to operate an extensive telecom-partnership network across MENA.
For OSN, the strategic challenge is to convert premium content, regional brand recognition and a growing streaming base into sustainable digital economics. Its evolution now depends less on the legacy pay-TV model and increasingly on subscriber growth, partnerships and content investment. Its brand gives OSN a platform to compete as streamers expand in MENA, but execution will depend on balancing content investment with subscriber economics.
