The company has transformed from a ports operator into an integrated global logistics group with businesses spanning ports and terminals, freight forwarding, marine services, economic zones, warehousing and end-to-end supply-chain solutions.
Established in its current form in 2005 and headquartered in Dubai, the company has become one of the UAE’s largest international businesses, operating infrastructure and logistics networks across major global trade corridors.
The group delivered record financial results in 2025. Revenue increased 22 per cent to $24.4bn, while adjusted EBITDA rose 18 per cent to $6.4bn, producing a margin of 26.3 per cent. Profit for the year increased 32.2 per cent to $1.96bn, while operating cash flow reached $6.3bn. DP World invested $3.1bn in capital expenditure during the year as it expanded infrastructure and logistics capacity across markets including India, Africa, South America and Europe. Major projects included London Gateway, Tuna Tekra in India, Ndayane in Senegal and Posorja in Ecuador.
Total group gross container throughput increased 5.8 per cent to 93.4 million TEU in 2025, reflecting growth across the ports portfolio.
DP World appointed Essa Kazim as chairman and Yuvraj Narayan as group chief executive, in 2026.
The leadership transition comes after more than a decade in which DP World has deliberately expanded beyond terminal operations. Investments in freight forwarding, inland logistics, warehousing, marine services and market-access solutions have enabled the group to participate in a much larger share of customers’ supply chains.
Rather than simply moving containers through ports, DP World increasingly seeks to control or coordinate cargo from factory origin through inland transport, terminal handling, maritime connections and final-market distribution.
That strategy has made the company an important extension of Dubai’s international commercial reach.
The challenge for its new leadership is to maintain strong returns while continuing an investment programme that requires significant capital across different geographies. With revenue and throughput at record levels, DP World enters its next phase as a global supply-chain company.
