Asyad Group
Sector: Logistics, Shipping, Ports and Supply Chain • Country: Oman
15 October, 2026
The group is building a larger role in global trade as Oman strengthens an integrated logistics platform spanning shipping, ports, free zones, freight forwarding, express and postal services, ship repair and public transport. Established in 2016, the state-owned group was created to consolidate strategic logistics assets and use Oman’s position on major east-west trade routes to support economic diversification. Its model brings a broad range of transport and logistics services under one corporate umbrella, allowing customers to connect maritime, port, warehousing, freight and distribution requirements across a single network.
The group delivered stronger bottom-line performance in 2025. Net profit rose to OMR60.64m from OMR52.87m in 2024, while the debt-to-equity ratio improved to 0.99 from 1.01. Operating profit, however, fell to OMR45.59m from OMR55.20m, with Asyad attributing the decline mainly to lower revenue from its shipping segment, IPO-related costs and additional depreciation linked to vessel acquisitions. The group also proposed OMR20m in cash dividends to shareholders.
Shipping remains one of Asyad’s most important commercial activities, supported by ports, free zones and freight-forwarding operations. The company’s strategy is based on integrating those businesses rather than managing them as stand-alone assets, creating an end-to-end logistics proposition that can serve domestic and international customers.
That model is particularly relevant to Oman’s geography. Ports on the Arabian Sea provide direct access to international shipping lanes, supporting the sultanate’s ambition to strengthen its position as a trade and logistics hub between Asia, Africa and Europe.
Asyad has also expanded through acquisitions and investments across its logistics portfolio, while subsidiaries have pursued fleet expansion and capital-market transactions. Its creation marked a significant step in Oman’s wider effort to commercialise and coordinate national logistics assets.
With higher net profit, a modestly improved leverage ratio and a diversified operating base, Asyad enters its next phase focused on converting Oman’s geographic advantages and transport infrastructure into recurring international trade and logistics revenue.
