Dubai’s Sheikh Mohammed receives Covid-19 vaccine

In a remarkable development, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has received the Covid-19 vaccine.

The ruler took to Twitter on Tuesday, November 3, to share an image of him receiving the vaccine.

“We wish everyone safety and great health, and we are proud of our teams who have worked relentlessly to make the vaccine available in the UAE,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

“The future will always be better in the UAE.”

Sheikh Mohammed has become the senior-most member of the UAE’s rulers to receive the vaccine.

A number of other high-ranking officials have also received the vaccine which is currently under Phase III trials within the country.

These include Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.
