Read: Emirates and Greek carrier Aegean Airlines sign codeshare partnership The Dubai-based carrier’s passengers can now stopover in Athens before benefitting from AEGEAN’s connections to Greek and European destinations, while AEGEAN travellers will have access to Emirates’ flights between Athens and Dubai and additionally to flights between Athens and Newark. The codeshare agreement between the Dubai-based carrier and AEGEAN offers travellers a seamless booking experience from Emirates’ network to eight domestic Greek points via Athens, using a single ticket and one baggage policy. The Greek airline had also placed its code on Emirates-operated flights between Dubai and Athens. Through the codeshare partnership, AEGEAN offers flights to 17 domestic destinations and 53 additional points in regional Europe and the Middle East from its Athens hub, while customers can access the UAE-based carrier’s global network of over 140 destinations spanning six continents from its hub in Dubai. The combined network of both airlines will reach 200 destinations globally. Emirates builds on codeshare partnerships Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ chief commercial officer stated: “We’re pleased to expand our successful partnership with AEGEAN to include our direct service between Athens and Newark.
