France’s Accor to open two MGallery hotels in Dubai

The company has more than 70 UAE hotels in operation and in the pipeline

French hotel operator Accor has announced two management deals with Khamas Group of Investments for properties under its boutique MGallery brand.

MGallery Business Bay, adjacent to the upcoming Marasi development, will have 144 rooms and occupy the same building as a Mama Shelter hotel previously announced by Accor last April.

It will have four dining options including a rooftop bar and restaurant, pool bar, all-day dining restaurant and executive lounge and is due to open in 2021.

The 164-room MGallery Bur Dubai will rebrand an unnamed existing Dubai hotel. It will include an all-day dining restaurant, three lounges, a signature restaurant by Indian celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor and two nightclubs.

There will also be an indoor pool, rooftop pool and a spa area with seven treatment rooms.

“As Dubai continues to grow as a world-class destination, we have seen the emergence of many different leisure and business destinations, which presents an opportunity to grow the presence of our lifestyle portfolio through concepts such as MGallery, 25Hours and Mama Shelter,” said AccorHotels Middle East luxury brands chief operating officer Sami Nasser.

“The expansion of MGallery into the upcoming Dubai Canal area and in Bur Dubai remains in line with our strategy to increase the reach of our most loved concepts across the most vibrant, up and coming areas within the markets in which we operate.”

AccorHotels has more than 70 hotel in operation and in the pipeline in the UAE inclduing The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery, which opened last year. Its wider Middle East and Africa network includes more than 300 hotels in operation and in the pipeline across 30 countries.

Other recent deals signed by the company include for the first property under its SO/ luxury brand in the Middle East at the upcoming Uptown Dubai development near Jumeirah Lakes Towers.
