Dubai’s Emirates adds fourth daily flight to Riyadh

The addition will bring the airline’s total number of weekly Riyadh flights to 28

Dubai carrier Emirates has announced plans to add a fourth daily flight to the Saudi capital Riyadh from next month.

The September 1 addition will bring the airline’s total number of weekly Riyadh flights to 28.

EK813 be served by a three-class Boeing 777-300ER and depart Dubai at 3:00pm each day, arriving in Riyadh at 3:50pm.

Return fight EK814 will leave Riyadh at 5:50pm and arrive n Dubai at 8:40pm.

“Emirates’ expanded schedule to Riyadh will offer more travel options and choice for business travellers and families alike who are looking to visit Dubai,” said the airline’s senior vice prescient of commercial operations for the Gulf, Middle East and Iran Adil Al Ghaith.

“There are strong passenger flows between Riyadh and Dubai so enhancing our services makes business sense, and further underscores Riyadh’s importance within our global network.”

Dubai welcomed 1.5 million Saudis last year and the wider UAE considers the kingdom its largest regional trading partner with non-oil trade reaching Dhs800bn ($24bn) in 2017, according to UAE Federal Customs Authority data.

Emirates began flights to Saudi in 1989 and now flies 84 times a week to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah, increasing to 91 with the latest additions.

The carrier has announced plans to add capacity on a number of key routes this year including Amsterdam and Toronto.
