The world’s first Real Madrid café, targeting fans of the popular Spanish football club, has opened at The Beach Mall in Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Residence.
The two-level cafe, which can accommodate 375 guests, will offer dining, entertainment and retail options. The outlet is themed around the essence and ambiance of football, specifically focusing on Real Madrid’s past and present.
The menu will include Spanish-inspired dishes such as gazpacho, omelletes and paella and a selection of coffees and pastries, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pastas, pizzas and desserts.
The café, part of Real Madrid World, is being operated by regional F&B player Ginza Holdings.
Khaled Al Muhairy, chairman of Ginza Holdings, said: “The Real Madrid Café is where football and the world that revolves around the club come alive, evoking its achievements, players and facilities, visually showcasing testimonies of its myths, as well as the greatest and most unforgettable moments in its history.”
Guests can watch games from the FIFA World Cup 2014 championships in Brazil and other league football matches. They can also buy Real Madrid merchandise and memorabilia at the café.
“We are very excited to open the doors to the very first Real Madrid Café in the world, and privileged that it will happening right here in Dubai, a city that is equally passionate about football and food,” said Al Muhairy.
Dubai’s F&B sector is booming, even as malls in the city expand and improve their offerings. However, experts have warned that the heavily saturated industry could be heading towards a bubble.
