Dubai-based beauty blogger Huda Kattan has been named the world’s number one Instagram influencer by communications network SERMO.
The 32-year-old makeup artist, who started her career in 2010 by writing makeup tips and tricks and filming YouTube tutorials, was also ranked number eight out of the world’s top 10 digital influencers.
She was also ranked the overall top performer on Instagram with a following of 12.7 million, three times that of of the second highest Instagrammer in the index, Camila Coelho from Brazil.
Kattan’s social media stardom has helped her create her own beauty brand, Huda Beauty, of which the products are sold at worldwide branches of French cosmetics giant Sephora.
The SERMO index also ranked Dubai-based fashion bloggers Kat Lebrasse and Samantha Francis, who writes under the name Style is Necessity, as the UAE’s top rising starts in the social media sphere.
