UAE weather update: Strong winds, dust storm expected across the country

The UAE recorded its lowest temperature of 19.9°C in Raknah at 6am today

Moderate to strong winds are expected across the country which could trigger a potential dust storm.

Blowing dust and sand could render low visibility over some areas while overcast conditions are also expected, the National Centre of Meterology (NCM) reported.

“Dusty and partly cloudy, with a gradual decrease in temperatures. Moderate to fresh winds, and strong at times, with blowing and loaded dust and sand, leading to deterioration of horizontal visibility over some areas. The sea will be rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf and rough in Oman Sea,” NCM said in a statement.

Temperatures will vary between 22-36°C in the coastal areas, between 18-42°C in the internal areas and 19-30°C in the mountains.

The UAE recorded its lowest temperature of 19.9°C in Raknah at 6am today.

Partial overcast conditions are expected to persist over the rest of the week, with potential fog and mist formation over select areas expected on May 14-15.
