UAE weather: National Ambulance to the rescue; Dubai to enhance emergency response

National Ambulance provided critical emergency medical care and transportation to hospitals amidst a 91 per cent surge in call volume compared to regular days

National Ambulance, a key division of the National Guard Command, sprang into action amid adverse weather conditions that impacted the UAE from April 15 to 17.

Responding effectively to 1,426 urgent calls across the Northern Emirates, National Ambulance’s teams provided critical emergency medical care and transportation to hospitals amidst a 91 per cent surge in call volume compared to regular days.

Operating around the clock, the National Ambulance personnel attended to the needs of the sick and injured, ensuring they received prompt medical attention despite the challenging circumstances.

The efforts were not confined to immediate response; they also played a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the national weather response plan.

Dubai is focused on enhancing emergency response systems

In other news, in a proactive move to bolster Dubai’s readiness to handle unforeseen weather challenges, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, instructed heads of Dubai government entities to devise a comprehensive proactive plan.

During the recent meeting, Sheikh Hamdan emphasised the need for a robust strategy to enhance Dubai’s preparedness for dealing with unexpected weather phenomena.

Reviewing the recent severe weather conditions that impacted the emirate, Sheikh Hamdan acknowledged the rapid progress made in restoring normalcy across Dubai. He emphasised that these challenges present an opportunity for Dubai to strengthen its emergency response systems and develop proactive plans capable of managing various scenarios,  state news agency WAM reported.

Sheikh Hamdan stressed the importance of learning from past experiences and constantly evolving to address emerging challenges. He affirmed that adverse weather conditions have prompted Dubai to refine its crisis readiness plans, reiterating the Dubai Government’s unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors.

The Crown Prince was briefed on the efforts undertaken by government entities to ensure the seamless delivery of essential services to the community, underscoring Dubai’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of governance and public service.
