The facility will only be extended to those UAE nationals who have previously obtained either an Indian eVisa or a regular visa

The Indian government has introduced the visa-on-arrival facility for UAE nationals in a bid to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.

Visas on arrival will be available to Emiratis for up to 60 days to furnish business, tourism, conference and medical purposes.

The on-arrival visa facility is provided at six assigned international airports – Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai, a statement said.

The facility will only be extended to those UAE nationals who have previously obtained either an Indian eVisa or a regular visa notwithstanding whether the traveller undertook the journey or not.

UAE nationals, keen to visit India for the first time, are encouraged to apply for either an eVisa or a regular visa.

The nationals of Japan, South Korea and the UAE are eligible for visa-on-arrival facilities in India. A fee of INR2000 (Dhs102) per passenger, inclusive of children, will be charged for the facility, according to the Indian visa website.

UAE nationals of Pakistani origin will not be eligible for the visa-on-arrival scheme.
