The UAE’s Ministry of Education said on Tuesday, January 5, that examinations for students in grades 4-12 will be conducted this month.

The exams will be held from January 10-14. Students from grades 4-11 will attempt their exams remotely.

Students in grade 12 meanwhile, will for undergo their exams at schools in the same classes where their first semester examinations took place.

The exams are mandatory for all students who were unable to appear for them in the first semester, and voluntary for students wishing to improve their results in Arabic, English, Mathematics, General Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Health Sciences.

Last month, officials in Abu Dhabi stated that all school students in the capital emirate will have remote learning for the first two weeks of the new term, starting January 3.

The decision applied to all students at both public and private schools in the emirate, the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee, in coordination with Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) announced.

Private schools in Dubai reopened as per their schedule earlier this week with parents being given a choice between face-to-face and distance learning for their children.
