Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla issued a decree to increase the salaries of employees “by 100 per cent to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan”, the report stated. The initiative is part of the UAE government’s efforts to provide a decent life for UAE nationals, it added. Last year, UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared 2018 to be the ‘Year of Zayed’ to commemorate the 100th birthday of the country’s founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Year of Zayed has highlighted the role of the late leader in establishing the UAE Federation, and his local, regional and international achievements. A series of initiatives, events and awards held throughout the year have promoted the values of tolerance, progression, environmentalism and charity that defined his leadership.
