UAE Declares Nov 2 As Islamic New Year Holiday

Private sector employees will now resume work from Sunday, November 3.

The UAE’s Ministry of Labour has announced that private sector employees in the country will get a holiday on Saturday, November 2 for Islamic New Year. The revised date was announced in a circular issued by the UAE’s Minister of Labour, Saqr Gobash, on Monday, reported official news agency WAM.

The UAE Cabinet had earlier declared Sunday, November 3 as the Al Hijri holiday for both the public and private sectors.

Work will now resume on Sunday, November 3 for the private sector, while public sector employees will resume work on Monday, November 4.
