The UAE has announced the retail fuel prices for the month of October. The fuel price committee increased the retail rates for Super 98, Special 95, and E-Plus 91 by as much as 3 fils per litre from the month of September.

From October 1, Super 98 petrol will cost Dhs3.44 a litre from Dhs3.42 a litre in September, while Special 95 will cost Dhs3.33 a litre compared to Dhs3.31 a litre the previous month, according to a tweet from fuel retailing company Emarat.

Diesel will cost Dhs3.57 a litre, up 17 fils from Dh3.40 in September while the price of E-plus 91 rose to Dhs3.26 compared to Dhs3.23 the previous month.

In September, the fuel price committee raised the retail rates for Super 98, Special 95, and E-Plus 91 by as much as 28 fils per litre. The UAE’s fuel price committee meets every month to decide whether prices will increase or decrease.

Meanwhile, global oil prices have been on the rise since the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its partners (known as OPEC+) agreed to extend oil production cuts they announced in April through the end of 2024.

OPEC+ pumps approximately 40 per cent of the world’s crude and policy decisions can have a significant impact on prices.
