Saudi King Salman conducted a Cabinet meeting by video call from a hospital in Riyadh on Tuesday, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

He was admitted to the King Faisal Specialist Hospital on Monday to undergo medical tests due to cholecystitis – an inflammation of the gallbladder.

In a video posted by SPA, King Salman was seen attending the video call with other Cabinet members from a desk in the hospital.

The king remains in good health, the SPA said on Twitter.

King Salman, the oldest living son of Ibn Saud, was appointed as Crown Prince of the kingdom in 2012 after the death of his brother Nayef bin Abdulaziz.

He ascended to the throne following the death of his half-brother, King Abdullah, who ruled the kingdom from 2005 to 2015.

Prior to that, he was the governor of Riyadh for a period of 48 years from 1963 to 2011, and also served as the Minister of Defense.
