Saudi Grains Organisation orders 480,000 tonnes of wheat

The kingdom has made two other major wheat orders this year

The Saudi Grains Organisation has awarded contracts for 480,000 tonnes of wheat to be supplied from October to December 2017.

In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, the organisation said the wheat would arrive on 13 ships through Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.

The order is the kingdom’s third for wheat this year and is designed to meet domestic demand and maintain stocks.

The two previous batches totaled 1.5 million tonnes of wheat imports.
