Since establishing Kingdom Holding in 1979, Alwaleed has acquired stakes in Citibank, Movenpick Hotels, Walt Disney, Apple Inc, News Corp, Twitter and PepsiCo, among others. By the end of 2013, Alwaleed estimated his fortune had increased by 20 per cent, from $25.9 billion in 2012 to $31.2 billion.
