FlyGeorgia has begun services to Dubai, its fourth Middle East route

Gulf Business

FlyGeorgia has begun three-times-weekly flights between Tbilisi and Dubai.

The service, operated by a single-aisle Airbus A319 aircraft, targets executives and leisure passengers – the aircraft has business and economy class configurations – and flights depart from Dubai International Terminal 1. An online return economy fare for travel next week costs GEL827 (AED1,832).

It marks FlyGeorgia’s fourth Middle East route, alongside Tehran, Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh.

Two more aircraft will be delivered by March, and four more European destinations will be added to the airline’s network, in a bid to foster the country’s economic growth.

Georgia shares its borders with Russia, Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan and its capital Tbilisi, which straddles the steep banks of the Mtkvari River, has positioned itself for centuries as a crossroads between Europe and Asia.

Dnata has been appointed the airline’s General Sales Agent (GSA) for the GCC and India.

FlyGeorgia will compete with flydubai, which also flies to Tbilisi.
