THE CHAIRMAN OF Saudi Arabia’s Capital Market Authority, formed to lead the deregulation of the country’s financial services industry and capital markets, is set for a landmark year with the local stock exchange set to open up to foreign investors. He will also oversee any IPOs that come as a result, having approved last year’s National Commercial Bank IPO. Al Sheikh’s other roles include director at Saudi Arabian Oil Company, and he has previous experience at US law firm Latham & Watkins, the World Bank and Saudi Paper Manufacturing Company.
