Along the way she became the first woman elected to the board of a Saudi company in 2004 at Saudi Hollandi Bank and has emerged as a key voice of the Saudi business community. This was seen in 2017 when she was selected to co-chair the inaugural Saudi- US CEO Forum and later suggested during one session that companies were struggling with the pace of government reforms. Reports last year suggested the Olayan family was putting plans to list its Saudi business on hold for now but could revive them in the future.
