Kuwait’s Prime Minister has submitted his cabinet’s resignation to Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah on Thursday, Kuwait News agency (KUNA) reported.

Sheikh Jaber Al Mubarak submitted the resignation so that the emir can “rearrange the government tasks”, KUNA quoted government spokesman Tareq Al Mizrem as saying.

The Emir has to accept the resignation for it to be final.

The move comes after Kuwaiti MPs submitted a no-confidence motion vote against interior minister Sheikh Khalid al-Jarrah al-Sabah on Tuesday.

On Friday, minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Housing Jenan Bushehri also resigned after she was grilled by an MP over alleged financial and administrative irregularities following damage during recent rains.
