US-based software firm Infor has announced the acquisition of its regional channel partner Accentia Middle East.

Infor said the deal would significantly expand its presence in the region after it announced a dedicated India, Middle East an Africa business unit last year.

Accentia is based in Cairo and has offices in Dubai, Jeddah, Casablanca and Pune with 80 employees in total.

It has customers in 17 countries across the region and specialises in selling Infor’s enterprise resource planning product for manufacturing, distribution and equipment companies, according to the firm.

The firm will continue to be led by CEO Samir Alwani.

Infor said plans to increase its market share in the region five fold by 2020 after triple digit licence and subscription growth in the last 12 months.

It has increased investment over the last year with more direct presence in sales, services, support, and other functions.

“Infor’s strategy of delivering industry-specific business applications in the cloud uniquely positions us for growth in the important Middle Eastern region as organizations and governments push to diversify outside of oil and gas,” said Tarik Taman, VP and general manager of Infor IMEA.

Yesterday, Fortune reported that Infor had partnered with Marketo to sell sales and marketing products in a bid to take on Oracle and Salsforce.

The deal will initially involve Infor’s customer relationship management and Marketo’s marketing automation products.
