GCC Covid-19 update: UAE reports 659 cases; Saudi registers 1,975 infections, 32 deaths

The death toll in Saudi Arabia and the UAE has risen to 611 and 273 respectively

UAE
The Ministry of Health and Prevention has reported 659 new Covid-19 cases, as a result of 54,000 additional tests conducted to screen for the virus.

The total number of cases has now risen to 37,018. The new cases identified are undergoing treatment.

The ministry also announced the death of three Covid-19 patients due to complications, raising the death toll to 273.

With 419 additional recoveries, the total number of patients who have recovered from the contagion has now reached 19,572.

Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia has reported 1,975 additional Covid-19 cases and 32 deaths on June 4.

Riyadh registered 675 infections, followed by Makkah (286) and Jeddah (259).

The total number of registered Covid-19 infections has risen to 93,157 while the death toll stands at 611.

Bahrain
As of June 4, 2.30pm local time, Bahrain reported 5,384 active Covid-19 cases, of whom nine were in a critical state.

As many as 21 people have succumbed to the virus across the country.

Kuwait
Kuwait reported 562 Covid-19 cases and six deaths in the past 24 hours, Kuwait News Agency reported.

The death toll has risen to 236 while the total number of infections has scaled to 29,921.

Oman
Oman reported 778 new Covid-19 cases, of whom 265 were nationals.

A total of 67 people have succumbed to the virus to date.

Qatar
The Ministry of Public Health has reported 1,581 positive Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

Currently, the country has a total of 24,228 active cases.
