GCC Covid-19 update: Saudi reports 1,223 cases; UAE’s case count crosses 10,300

Since the outbreak, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have reported 17,522 and 10,349 cases respectively

The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia reported 1,223 new Covid-19 cases in the country on April 26.

Of the newly diagnosed cases, Makkah reported 272 cases, followed by Riyadh (267) and Madinah (217).

The total number of Covid-19 infections in the country since the outbreak, has now reached 17,522.

The ministry also confirmed three additional deaths, spiking the death toll to 139.

With 142 additional recoveries, as many as 2,357 people have now overcome the coronavirus disease.

UAE
The UAE reported an additional 536 Covid-19 cases in the country, as a result of an additional 35,000 tests performed.

Since the outbreak of the virus strain, the total number of Covid-19 infections has spiked to 10,349.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention further confirmed five additional deaths, raising the death toll to 76.

The ministry expressed sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.

The total number of recovered cases has now reached 1,978.

Oman
The Ministry of Health has confirmed has confirmed 93 new Covid-19 cases, Times of Oman reported.

Among those, 33 cases were of Omanis while 60 were of expatriates.

The total number of Covid-19 infections in the sultanate tallies 1,998 including 333 recoveries and 10 deaths.

Qatar
The Ministry of Public Health announced 929 new cases of the virus in the last 24 hours.

Of the 82,289 people tested for the virus, 10,287 people have tested positive. As many as 1,012 people have recovered from the Covid-19.
