GCC Covid-19 update: 1,141 new cases in Saudi; UAE records 483 new infections

The total number of Covid-19 infections in the UAE and Saudi Arabia have spiked to 8,238 and 12,772 respectively

The UAE has registered a total of 483 new Covid-19 cases across the country.

The new cases were detected as a result of 31,807 tests conducted on citizens and residents in various emirates of the country.

The total number of infections has risen to 8,238 cases since the outbreak. As many as 1,546 patients have now recovered from the Covid-19 infection.

An additional six patients have also succumbed to the infection, spiking the death toll to 52.

Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia took to Twitter to announce 1,141 new Covid-19 cases in the kingdom.

Of the newly diagnosed cases, Makkah reported the highest infections with 315 cases, followed by Hufof (240) and Riyadh (164).

Since the outbreak, Saudi Arabia has registered a total of 12,772 infections.

The ministry also confirmed the deaths of five individuals, spiking the death toll to 114.

Oman
The sultanate recorded 106 new Covid-19 cases, Oman News Agency reported.

Of the newly diagnosed cases, 35 were Omanis while 71 cases were expatriates.

The total number of cases registered in the country amounts to 1,614. As many as eight deaths were recorded in the country.

 

Kuwait
The Ministry of Health in Kuwait has reported 168 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the tally to 2,248, Kuwait News Agency reported.

Two individuals, both Indians, aged 57 and 75, also succumbed to the infection, taking the total fatalities in the country to 13.

As many as 50 people were reported to be in the intensive care unit, 21 of whom were in a critical condition.

Of those infected, 443 have now fully recovered.

Qatar
The Ministry of Public Health announces the registration of 608 new confirmed Covid-19 cases, bringing the total infections in Qatar to 7,141.

The ministry also announced the death of a 55-year-resident on account of medical complications due to Covid-19.

A total of 689 people have now recovered from Covid-19 in Qatar.
