Apple’s iPhone X features an all glass and stainless steel design

UAE telecoms operator Etisalat announced it will offer Apple’s new iPhone X in stores from Friday, November 3.

Customers can pre-order iPhone X from Thursday on Etisalat’s website, it said.

The new phone features an all-glass and stainless steel design with a 5.8-inch Super Retina display, A11 Bionic chip with a neural engine for augmented reality and 3D gaming experiences as well as wireless charging.

The iPhone X comes with a 7MP front camera and a 12MP rear camera which features dual optical image stabilisation, a new colour filter, deeper pixels and an improved image signal processor.

Portrait mode with studio lighting is available on both the front and rear cameras and the phone supports 4K video.

The device also features Face ID, which will allow users to unlock, authenticate and pay using the TrueDepth camera system made up of a dot projector, infrared camera and flood illuminator – that will be able to recognise a face.

It comes in two colours – silver and space gray and the device is priced at Dhs4,099 (64GB) and Dhs4,729 (Dhs4,729) on Apple’s website.

Etisalat will offer the iPhone X on flexible smart pay plans with a 12, 18 or 24 months contract. Under the two-year contract, prices for the 64GB version begin at Dhs185 and the 256GB version for Dhs215.

Those who have purchased the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus from Etisalat and are subscribed to the ‘iPhone for life’ programme and have completed their 12 month contract, can receive a free upgrade to the iPhone X.

A new subscription to the ‘iPhone for life’ programme is also available for all new customers who purchase the iPhone X on the 18 or 24 month smart pay offer, a statement said.

Khaled Elkhouly, Chief Consumer Officer at Etisalat said: “Etisalat is thrilled that the much awaited iPhone X will be available for customers in the UAE at the same time as their global counterparts. iPhone X will be a game changer in the industry.”
