Samer Abdelsalam Majali

Samer Abdelsalam Majali is a distinguished aviation executive with more than 40 years of leadership experience across the global airline industry. After assuming the role of CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines on March 30, 2021, Majali has continued to drive the airline’s modernisation, transformation, and expansion strategy, building on a legacy of executive leadership that has shaped the development of the region’s aviation sector. Under his leadership Royal Jordanian, achieved significant milestones. During the 2025 financial year, Royal Jordanian recorded a historic turnaround, achieving a net profit of JOD21.5m, while operating revenues increased by 11 per cent to JOD829m. The airline transported 4.4 million passengers in 2025, achieved its highest-ever load factor of 81 per cent, and ranked among the world’s top five airlines for punctuality. In 2026, Majali continues leading Royal Jordanian’s transformation agenda, overseeing network expansion, and operational resilience. By April 20, the company approved its 2026 business plan, with the fleet upgrade expected to reach completion by the end of 2026, including the introduction of Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A321neo aircraft. His leadership continues to strengthen Royal Jordanian’s position as a leading regional carrier and a key contributor to Jordan’s aviation, tourism, and logistics sectors.

Majali has also held prominent international positions, including chairman of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Board of Governors in 2008, member of the IATA Board of Governors, and Board Member of the Central Bank of Jordan (2011–2020).
