Mostafa Terrab

Mostafa Terrab is chairman and CEO of OCP Group, the Moroccan phosphate and fertiliser giant that plays a central role in global food security and crop nutrition. OCP’s leadership page lists Terrab as chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer, while Harvard Kennedy School describes OCP as a global leader in crop nutrition solutions headquartered in Morocco. Terrab has led OCP through a long period of transformation, moving the group beyond phosphate extraction toward higher-value fertilisers, sustainability, research and Africa-focused agricultural development. His leadership has also been associated with the establishment of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, which the World Bank highlights as part of OCP’s broader investment in research and education. OCP’s current strategic direction is strongly linked to green industry. In 2024, OCP and ENGIE signed a strategic partnership to accelerate the group’s energy transition, including projects in renewable energy, energy storage, green hydrogen, green ammonia, power infrastructure and sustainable desalination. That agenda builds on OCP’s green investment programme, which aims to reduce reliance on imported ammonia and strengthen Morocco’s position in sustainable fertiliser production.

Terrab’s importance extends beyond Morocco. As fertiliser supply chains, food security and decarbonisation become strategic global issues, OCP’s investment decisions increasingly shape agricultural resilience across Africa and beyond. Terrab remains one of the region’s most consequential industrial leaders.
