Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi

Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi has been instrumental in positioning Masdar as one of the world’s leading clean energy businesses. As CEO, he oversees the UAE’s flagship renewable energy company at a time when global demand for sustainable energy solutions continues to accelerate. Under his leadership, Masdar has expanded rapidly to build a combined global project portfolio exceeding 51GW of clean energy capacity. The company has set ambitious targets for the decade ahead, aiming to grow its renewable energy portfolio to 100GW by 2030 while establishing itself as a leading producer of green hydrogen.

Al Ramahi joined Masdar in 2008 and has played a central role in its development over the past decade and a half. Before being appointed CEO in 2016, he served as both chief financial officer and chief operating Officer, helping guide the company through a period of significant growth and international expansion. With more than 30 years of experience in the energy sector, he brings expertise across strategic leadership, finance, risk management and operational excellence. In addition to leading Masdar, Al Ramahi holds several prominent board and advisory positions. He serves as chairman of the Masdar Executive Committee, vice-chair of the Global Council on Sustainable Development Goals, and sits on the boards of a number of international energy and infrastructure organisations. He is also actively involved in global initiatives focused on sustainability, energy transition and international business cooperation.

His contributions have earned international recognition, including the Order of National Merit from French President Emmanuel Macron and the Order of Friendship from Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Widely regarded as one of the clean energy sector’s leading executives, Al Ramahi continues to play a key role in advancing the UAE’s renewable energy ambitions on the global stage.
