Amin H Nasser

Amin H Nasser is president and CEO of Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer by output and one of the most valuable integrated energy companies globally. He has held the role since 2015 after joining the company in 1982, bringing over four decades of industry expertise. Nasser’s career at Aramco spans upstream operations, engineering, and senior executive leadership roles across the company’s oil and gas value chain. He was appointed CEO during a transformational period that included international capital market access, downstream expansion, and strategic portfolio diversification.

In 2019, Aramco completed one of the world’s largest initial public offerings on the Saudi Exchange, generating substantial capital for corporate growth and shareholder returns. In 2020, it completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC) for approximately $69bn, significantly expanding its petrochemicals footprint and reinforcing its downstream integration strategy across chemicals, plastics, and specialty products.

Under his leadership, Aramco has continued to operate as a key global supplier of crude oil while strategically expanding investments in natural gas, refining, petrochemicals, carbon capture and storage technologies, and lower-carbon energy solutions. The company has also invested significantly in digital technologies and automation across upstream and downstream operations, enhancing efficiency and operational performance.

Nasser holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He has participated in international industry forums and advisory bodies, including the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council, and has been recognised by industry organisations including the Society of Petroleum Engineers for his substantial contributions to the oil and gas
sector globally.
