Alisha Moopen is the MD and group CEO of Aster DM Healthcare (GCC), leading one of the region’s most established integrated healthcare networks through expansion, consolidation, and digital transformation across the Gulf.

Under her leadership, Aster has grown to 15 hospitals, 126 clinics, and 338 pharmacies across five GCC countries and Jordan, supported by continuous workforce expansion and large-scale healthcare job creation. Her strategy focuses on an integrated ecosystem connecting hospitals, outpatient care, pharmacies, and digital health. This platform-led model is driving expansion across the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, while strengthening centres of excellence in oncology, cardiac sciences, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, urology, NICU care, transplant programmes, and robotic surgery.

In Saudi Arabia, the growth is anchored by the expansion of Aster’s integrated model locally, for which the company has committed an investment of $250m. In the UAE, Aster is adding two new multi-specialty hospitals in Studio City and Discovery Gardens with over 250 beds, serving more than 560,000 additional patients annually. This is complemented by a Dhs300m expansion of Aster Hospital Al Qusais and a planned Dhs1bn investment in future-ready infrastructure and digital transformation. Technology-led care remains central, with Aster’s 18-device robotic rehabilitation ecosystem and continued adoption of robotic-assisted surgeries enhancing precision and recovery outcomes.

The myAster platform has surpassed 2.8 million downloads, impacted over five million lives, and enabled more than 50,000 video consultations, integrating telehealth, diagnostics, pharmacy, homecare, and digital records. AI innovations include an Arabic voice-assisted healthcare platform with Google Cloud in Saudi Arabia and the AI-enabled Thrive by myAster 100-biomarker preventive health assessment. Aster Volunteers has impacted over eight million lives through 100,000 volunteers via free surgeries, camps, and disaster relief.

Aster employs over 13,000 healthcare professionals in the UAE.
