Ahmad Helal Al-Mohannadi

Ahmad Helal Al-Mohannadi is CEO of QatarEnergy LNG, appointed in 2026 after accumulating more than two decades of progressive experience across Qatar’s gas industry value chain. He began his career in technical engineering roles within Qatar’s pioneering LNG (liquefied natural gas) sector during its development phase and progressed through operational management positions across RasGas and Qatargas before sector integration into QatarEnergy.

QatarEnergy LNG is one of the world’s largest LNG producers by capacity and export volume, occupying a significant position in global liquefied natural gas markets. The company is central to Qatar’s long-term natural gas development and monetisation strategy, particularly including North Field expansion projects designed to substantially increase production capacity.

The company continues to expand production capacity in phases aligned with global LNG demand trends, economic viability assessments, and technological advancement. Capacity expansion represents significant capital investment and long-term strategic commitment to LNG market leadership and supply security for international customers. He holds a degree in chemical engineering from Qatar University, providing technical foundation for LNG production processes, thermodynamic principles, and industrial operations management.
